There has been an error in the processing of my I-130 petition for my mother. It was approved and now I am being asked to submit form I-485 or form I-824. The problem is that my mother is not and has never been to the US. I called CIS and talked to a representative about the error. She said she would send a letter to the CIS about it and that I should hear back from CIS in 5 days. I am just wondering if this timeline is realistic or I should expect it to take more time. Should I contact my senator and ask for assistance in facilitating this process? Would hiring a lawyer expedite this process? I know that the petition should then go to the NVC. Would a lawyer help?

My parents are planning to apply for visitor visa. My aunt (dad's sister) has applied a immigrant petition for him about 4 years back and it is still in process. If my dad applies for a visitor visa which is non-immigrant intent, will he face any issues with issuance of visitor visa ?

On the N-400 application form for citizenship what should I use as my eligibility? marriage or being a lawful permanent resident for at least 5 years? Thanks :)

Hello, I apologyze for not giving my name away first of all, secondly I need to know what my options are if my father and mother who are permanent residents in the USA can file an I-130 for me? They obtained their legal status thru the department of labor but at the time they were approved I was already 21 years of age (the whole process started in 2000and lasted for 5 years or so); one lawyer told me that I cannot do anything since I was over 21 but I just have been in a different lawyer who told me that yes I can adjust my status thank to a grandfather law that can help me to achieve my goal in working legally in this country. I am an unmarried daughter and 27 years of age at this time.

I just don't want to spend those $5,500 can this lawyer is asking me for his services, I appreciate very much your replies and my family will too

We have received our EAD cards without having Finger Print done. We have received FP notice and scheduled for the next week but received our EAD cards.
EAD cards says "No Finger print available" on the right corner. Will this cause any problems?

Please advice.

Since you were working all these times, please carry the W2 for 2008 ( for both of you). They may/may not ask for this, but its safe to carry the document


I am currently on H1 but planning to go on H4 due to current economic scenario.
I am planning to go to India due to some family reason and planning to get COS from H1 to H4 in India.
I have my salary slips and my husband has also maintained his status throughout.
Has anyone heard any horror stories about H4 stamping cases getting denied.

What documents they ask for when you go for COS from H1 to H4. Besides salary slips can they ask for my W-2's or they need my husband's W-2's only

Yes something basic seems to be missing in our immigrant community. I want to repeat these are just 6 users who are very vocal and influencing thousands of people.
Sorry to say this, but it appears our worst enemies seem to be fellow immigrants, not anti-immigrants.
All I can say is someone has to be criminally negative minded, to oppose a campaign where money is not even being solicited. This culture of hate has to go and has no place in the USA.

This campaign along with the DREAM campaign was also supported by Murthy forum.
Murthy is one of the top immigration lawyers. It is a moderated forum, and the lawyers are personally aware of the content. They have supported us on previous Advocacy days.

As far as the question about law, I am no lawyer and will defer to admins. Core is in touch with many lawyers and I can assure you, they will pick up an action item, only if it has a very good chance of success.

Also Greg Syskind, one of the best lawyers in the country is on our advisory board, and core talks to USCIS, law makers regularly. So to claim this is not legally possible is just absurd.
On our home page we have the best minds on immigration listed, in our advisory board.

So you have all the above lawyers, lobbyists, core who are supporting this and 6 people with EAD think its not possible?

I don't care them but they are influencing others to believe in them.

I believe same. Those minds are not only selfish but they are really really cruel, cunning and they don't deserve to be part of american dream.. All they care is their green card..rest of eligible people who are waiting to file 485 can have unknown waiting time for their chance of filing 485 and can live in the state of limbo.

Hope there are no issues legally for this to see as admin fix as you already mentioned that Murthy and Greg are aware of this initiative.
