Any one recently re-financed or obtained a mortgage loan with Bank of America or Wells Fargo. Both the banks denied loan stating not having a valid visa as a reason, though I have approved EAD with 485 pending and I-140 approved. I have contacted the customer support, since the loan was through the mortgage broker. The underwrite appears to not accept EAD as a valid status and asking to provide a copy of visa to purse further. Any one have any specific docs / links that might help other than the ones in this thread.

That is not true, my lawyer who is very influential and he has some good contacts he told me that this year spill-over would be different form last year. I was stupid so didn�t believe him about July 2007, and paying it for now for not having EAD.
I know this is hard to believe especially if something comes from lawyer.

I feel like giving up today after I saw a friend of mine leaving to india with a US Citizenship and an overseas citizen of india card.
The irony is he applied two months after me in the same category except his application was from a different state.
Now it makes me think, if I have to go through this process and after 5 years if I end up like my friend, then I might as well do it now...:confused:
Going back after US citizenship makes sense. He can come back when he wants and also get social security, medicare etc
But going back before that is defeat.

I am EB3...good news is the two-year EAD...a bit relieved.
Y2K bought in thousands of Desis(including me) and now we are in a USCIS Theater queue. House Full...I will wait for another show.....so what?

Agree. I still blame name check 180 rule - a major decision by USCIS/FBI helped this backlogg to go from bad to worst.
Name check 180 rule -it allowed thousands of people from EB1 / EB2 Row to get their 485 cleared and consumed major chunk of 2008/09 EB visas. Had it been not there, many old timers, would have used visas as their Name check would have been cleared before them.
Oh yeah, I hear you; I personally know many of my ex-colleagues in a big IT sourcing company who came to US in L1A got their GC through EB1 category within a matter of 6-8 months.....last years 180 rule change does benefit most of these fortunate guys.....

If there are few cases which are returned for false reasons ( see other thread) after Aug 17th probably those few will be forgotten till PD becomes Current again - 6-7 yrs - Huh ? :)
My app was received at the NSC on June 28th at 9:02am. I havent receviced receipts or checks cashed. If for some reason my app is denied or there is a request for evidence after the 17th of Aug are we able to resubmit or will it be too late?

Do you see any LUD update on your I-485 case ? I think when I-140 was approved and EB3 date got ported, USCIS may have touched the I-485 application.

Does anyone know to what address USCIS mails the AP. Is it the lawyer's office or is it the home address?

I have a similar question -- the USCIS site says document mailed on Dec 26th, but I am yet to receive it. I have not heard from the Lawyers either. USCIS mailed the receipt to the lawyers but EAD to our home, what's the deal with AP - home or lawyers?
