I think there are many ways to look at it. Doing Free service , yes it is a form of Gandhigiri, but will that cause the lawmakers to recognize us and pass laws in favor o fus..I do not think so.
I think our situation is no different than people in South Africa in Gandhian times. How Gandhi fought for them is by writing and writing and pestering the Authorities to reduce unfair taxes on Indians in SA and to solve other problems they had like cannot ride in the same Trains/cars as Whites etc...., fighting for their rights in a Vocal but Non Voilent - non aggressive approach.

In this case IV is our community and its leaders are doing the right thing for our cause and if we continue to support that by adding members, funds we will do a fair bit of gandhigiri towards our cause.

The problem I see with Los Angeles is the high population of illegals. Any thing here looks like pro-illegal.

Do you know if you got an audit? Any idea about how they decide to do audits?
I don't think my case has been picked up for audit, at least not so far. I don't know the criteria for audit. Just hoping the next application they pull from the pile is mine.

I know many of friends who use IV as recourse for NEWS but they don't register nor contribute. Even after multiple reminders and sarcastic comments they don't. I feel pity for them, they don't understand by registering and contributing they help them self and others. Shouldn�t we make IV a monthly subscription web site? That way we will have only serious members.

Has anyone done and research on what are the benefits of being LLC- S(single self employed) or to work for your wife's company (after she gets EAD) as compared to being on a regular payroll in a company..
I know you can show up your car/ cellphone/ homephone/ and some misc food expenses as for your business.

All the data about case file number (LINXXX, SRCXX, etc), status and the associated priority date is in a single/distributed database (else we would not be able to check our status online )
WHY CAN'T USCIS NOT RUN A QUERY AGAINST THIS DATBASE....?
Easier said than done - we have no clue what they do - what pattern they follow - but what has happened clearly suggests that there are many disconnects and there are always excuses.
The flood of approvals that come during end of fiscal year is just to avoid issues with questions raised for inefficiency

In my area there is no Infopass appointment available before my departure. What is the difference between departing with approval notice in hand and
with knowing that application has been approved but depart without the physical approval notice in hand before departure and get it aborad if my friend mail it to my place in abroad and later entering with that . Anybody could help in this situation with some advice.
