Both me and My wife were really impressed by the excellent work IV has done and achieved. I have made a contribution (albeit small) in the past, and will very much like to sign up for recurring contributions. We pledge to contribute $50 monthly as soon as my Wife gets her EAD. We were intending to signup for $20/month right away, to upgrade to $50/month on getting her EAD but I do not see that option anymore.
Anyways, my pledge still stands effective on the day we receive my wife's EAD.

There are many people hanging on to their current employer due to confusion on this issue and potential effect on pending GC.
and the great question continues to haunt: can a person keep working legally on EAD status if his/hers I-485 gets revoked in error by CIS? or he will be forced to resign from a new job when his MTR is being filed or in progress??? This is really killing me. Who has the answer? if anyone knows, please please share!

Why not do a flower campaign or the like, that we did last time? Clearly that worked and the phone campaign doesnt "have the appearance" of working. I am not saying it is not working, it just isint having the same media impact as last time. It doesnt have to be the flower campaign again, heck we can do a fruit basket deal this time.
Our message should be "Please stop punishing people that came here the right way, in order to help the people that did not". We are not against undocumented workers getting amnesty, we just dont want their issues to hold up everyone else's.

I don't think EB3-I would be U for more than a month, as I keep saying this year EB3 would be getting some share of spill-over. So even if it becomes U for April that would be temporarily and it would return back in May.

I have a suggestion! I don't think forcing monthly $25 contribution to keep donor status alive is a very good idea, especially in current economy. Take an example of myself. It is decided that I am going to loose job on 17th March, may not be able to contribute every month.

I think IV core can give lifetime exception to active members like 'ItIsNotFunny' for their efforts. For others, let monthly contribution stay.

For FY2006 (Oct 1st, 2005 - Sep 30, 2006) a total of 30,512 Schedule "A" visas were used.

According to DHS statistics 5,125 schedule "A" visas were used in FY2005 (June 1st, 2005 - Sep 30, 2006).

Especially considering the fact that not all applications got approved (because of the Visacreen, etc).

This link which is giving prediction for Oct, 2007 looks totally off to me.
if you see his EB3 predictions he is saying it will be close to to Jan 2007.
Where in Jan 2007 EB3 China was Aug 2002 not April 2005.
Don't know what is the reasoning behind these predictions.

July bulletin is OUT and NO more significant movement. Please call Lawmakers ASAP. Unless we take action USCIS is not going to do anything. Situation can be worse once we head towards election season. Still we have 1-2 months to get things done or we will be waiting for years to get green card OR EAD ( For some folks ).
It is just 10-15 minutes need to spend to call. Let them know WHO WE ARE AND WHAT ARE OUR ISSUES .
Please I request all of you to call , if you already call then ask your friends and family members to call.
Now its time to act. If we dont take action CHC will not allow to move ahead our 3 bills.

I think you are wrong. When the application is entered into the system that date is called Notice date. Receipt date would be the date USCIS recieves the application.
Receipt date is not the date when the application reaches the service center. It is infact the date when your application is entered into their internal system which could be several days after the application has reached the service center.

I re-read the section and I think your interpretation is correct. All I-140 filed after introduction and approved before enactment should stand clear from this provision. If there is an I-485 petition filed along with such an I-140 that is approved before enactment of this act, then it will qualify for an immigrant visa whenever one is available under the old law.
Again one needs to run this interpretation through a lawyer to be absolutely sure.

If this *only* applies to adjudication of I-140s and NOT to I-485s, this means that you would have to have filed your I-140 after May 15th and have it still pending by Oct 2008 .... 14 months for folks filing in the near future. This is quite unlikely, as it takes only a month or so for premium processing, and around 6 months for non-premium.
Folks might get into trouble if they have a labor certification stuck in the BEC and it doesn't get approved for another 12 months or so...

My EB2 140 got approved more than 10 days ago, with old EB3 priority date on the approval letter (and my old A number), but still no LUD on my existing 485s.
Do I need to do anything to get it moving? How do I put a Service Request on 485? The online system to put an eRequest only lets you do it for N400 or I90.

Lot of weird things. Still waiting for 485 approval even after sending interfiling request in mid-November. My attorney has sent an email reminder again 2 weeks back. Even for the I-140 which was approved in November 1st week, online status still says "Initial Review".
Opened a Service Request early this week and received a reply with the status as follows.
Thank you for contacting us about this case. According to our systems this petition was approved and it has been sent to production. Your case will be processed in order based on the approval date. If you do not receive the document within 30 days feel free to contact us again.
Online/Phone status is still processing .... I have to just wait and see I guess.
